PHOENIX, Ariz. (June 17, 2022) – The Southwest Premier League (SWPL) announces Real Phoenix Football Club as its newest member.

The club will participate in the upcoming NISA Independent Cup, and join Arizona Premier for the 2022/2023 season.

The club plans to start small and dream big, fielding its Men’s 1st Team and Reserve Team with support from its youth academy program.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to participate in the SWPL,” Club President Rosario Lopez said. “The timing is perfect for Real Phoenix FC to make its way back into the soccer landscape.”

Real Phoenix FC was founded in 2011 in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and played in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup that year. That team concluded operations in 2014 and re-launched a year later as a member of Major League Futsal USA.

Lonnel Baisey currently serves as General Manager and Director of Training. Baisey previously served as President of Gorilla Elite FC (UPSL).

The club will play in the Southwest Region in the NISA Independent Cup. Dates and times for those matches will be announced soon.
